The Board of Directors of Forest Hill Swim and Tennis Club welcome you to the 2018 season. The Board, Directors, Managers and employees have been working hard over the Winter and Spring to make the upcoming season as enjoyable as possible. There has been a lot of behind the scenes work to keep our club running smoothly.
Forest Hill welcomes back Jon Jacobson, our Director of Tennis. Jon and his staff of tennis pros and tennis attendants look forward to seeing you on the courts. There is quite a lot to offer members this season. Forest Hill’s tennis program offers clinics, lessons, camps, holiday related events and much more. The new pickle ball program has been a success and our club continues to receive accolades from pickle ball league players.
Mary Kate Lavin returns as our Pool Manager. Mary Kate and her staff have been working and training this Spring to make your pool experience safe and fun. Our swimming program continues to offer swim team, dive team, swim lessons and many other activities. This year, Forest Hill will look to challenge other pool clubs to a master’s swim meet for adult competition. If you would like to relive your swim team glory days and represent Forest Hill, please contact the pool managers for information.
Amy Cooper and John Greco are returning as Activities Co-Chairpersons. Be sure to check out the calendar on the Forest Hills website for upcoming events. Emails will also go out to the membership as the season progresses. If you are able, please consider volunteering to help at one or more events. Amy and John get a lot done, but help is always needed.
The Board of Directors decided to give a name the snack bar this year. A survey was sent out to the membership for responses. “The Lily Pad Grill” won by a clear majority. The staff has spruced up the snack bar and will be adding new signage. Additionally, for the convenience of members, the club has expanded its acceptance of credit cards and now has Forest Hill gift cards that can be used for a variety of things such as snacks, guest fees and some activity fees.
As you may be aware, like many clubs, Forest Hill is experiencing changing demographics in the area that impact membership and club usage. The Board is making many efforts to address the evolution in how members use clubs like ours. To meet the changing needs of members, single and two adult membership were offered with great response. Forest Hill offers tremendous facilities for those seeking summer recreation and the club continues to offer a referral incentive for members that introduce new applicants to the club.
The Board of Directors is a volunteer job, made up of members like you. Each year, some Directors’ terms expire. We are always looking for members to fill those slots and offer new experience and points of view. Please consider helping Forest Hill by becoming a member of the Board of Directors.
I look forward to seeing current members and meeting new members this year. If you have any questions, comment or concerns, you can always email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or just say hello when you see me at the club.
Thank you to all members, managers and employees who make our club one of the best in Central Maryland. Have a great season at Forest Hill Swim and Tennis Club.
